8. Newsletter
8.1 Newsletter Data
If you wish to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data will not be collected or will only be collected on a voluntary basis. We use these data exclusively for the dispatch of the requested information and do not pass these on to third parties.
The data you provide to us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted after you cancel the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the member area) remain unaffected by this.
8.2 Contents of the Newsletter
We send newsletters, e-mails and other electronic notifications containing advertising information (hereinafter referred to as “newsletters”) only with the consent of the recipient or a legal permission. If the contents of the newsletter are specifically described within the scope of registration, they are decisive for the consent of the user.
In addition, our newsletters contain information on the subject of personal development, lifestyle, minimalism and nutrition (this may include references to our blog articles, lectures, workshops, our services and products as well as third-party services and products, such as tools or software recommended by us).
8.3 Double-Opt-In and Logging
The registration to our newsletter takes place in a so-called Double-Opt-In procedure. This means that you will receive an e-mail after registration in which you will be asked to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that nobody can register with external e-mail addresses.
The registration for the newsletter will be logged in order to prove the registration process according to the legal requirements. This includes the storage of the login and the confirmation time, as well as the IP address. Similarly, the changes to your data stored with MailChimp will be logged.
8.4 Newsletter Service Provider
The newsletter is sent via “MailChimp”, a newsletter distribution platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
The e-mail addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as the other data described in this notice, are stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. In addition, MailChimp may use this data to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for technical optimization of the dispatch and display of the newsletter or for economic purposes, to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to contact them or to pass them on to third parties.
We rely on the reliability of MailChimp regarding their IT and data security.
MailChimp is certified under the US-EU data protection agreement “Privacy Shield” and is therefore committed to complying with EU data protection regulations. The privacy policy of MailChimp can be viewed here.
8.5 Registration Data
To subscribe to the newsletter, it is sufficient to enter your e-mail address. Optionally you can enter your first and last name. This information is only used to personalize the newsletter.
8.6 Statistical Survey and Analysis
The newsletters contain a so-called “web-beacon”; a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the servers of MailChimp when the newsletter is opened. Within the scope of this retrieval, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval are first collected. This information is used to technically improve the services based on the technical data or target groups and their reading behaviour based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or access times.
The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our aim nor that of MailChimp to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our contents to them or to send different contents according to the interests of our users.
8.7 Data Management
There are cases where we direct the newsletter recipients to the websites of MailChimp. For example, our newsletters contain a link with which the newsletter recipients can retrieve the newsletters online (e.g. in case of display problems in the e-mail program). Furthermore, newsletter recipients can subsequently correct their data, such as their e-mail address. Likewise, the privacy policy of MailChimp can only be accessed on their websites.
In this context, we would like to point out that cookies are used on the website of MailChimp and that personal data is processed by MailChimp, their partners and service providers (e.g. Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. You can find further information in the respective data protection declarations of the services.
In addition, we would like to draw your attention to the possibilities of objection to the data collection for advertising purposes on the websites: http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for the European region).
8.8 Termination/Revocation
You can cancel the reception of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. You will find a link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter. Alternatively, you can send an e-mail to jennifer.ragg@web.de at any time.
After cancellation, your data will be deleted with the exception of your e-mail address. The e-mail address is stored in a blocking list and is only used to ensure that we do not send any further e-mails to your e-mail address.
8.9 Legal Basis
The dispatch of the newsletter and the performance measurement are based on the consent of the recipients according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a, Art. 7 DSGVO in conjunction with § 7 para. 2 no. 3 UWG or on the legal permission according to § 7 para. 3 UWG.
The mail service provider will be informed on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO and a contract processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 para. 3 sentence 1 DSGVO.
The registration procedure is recorded on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO and serves as proof of consent to receive the newsletter.
