30 Habits for a Happier Life

Are you tired of your unhealthy habits that are holding you back? Looking to live a happier life but unsure about where to start? I’ve picked out the best happiness habits for you that are straight-forward and actionable. Before starting my personal growth journey, I wasn’t organised, didn’t really have a vision for my life, had no morning routine whatsoever and didn’t know much about healthy habits either.

If you want to improve your life, implementing positive habits is an amazing way to start and you will experience more happiness over time. We really are the culmination of our habits – what we do on a daily basis matters and I think that it’s also a reflection of the quality of our lives.

Gamify Your Habits

Once you implement new habits and follow through, you will realize how amazing and literally life-changing this kind of self-improvement can be – plus, it’s so much fun because yepp, habit-building can also be gamified! I like to gamify my habits by using a habit-tracker in my journal (see below). Being able to draw out the squares somehow is super rewarding and motivating for me.

It gives you this awesome feeling of knowing that you are in the driver’s seat and actually take concrete action steps towards your dream life on a daily basis.You can invent your own method or simply copy the habit-tracker that I use in my journal (see photo).

I’m super excited about this post and picked 30 happiness habits for you that worked best for me and that can benefit you as well.

Now let’s get started with the actual list. Psst..I included some links to resources and videos I personally like to use. So, if you don’t know where to start (e.g with meditation), there are videos you can use. Since it’s sooo much easier to stick to your habits, when you’re writing them down, I created a printable habit checklist for you which you’ll find at the end of this post.

So here is some inspiration! Let’s create habits for happiness and a better life!

30 HAPPINESS HABITS FOR A BETTER LIFE:

1. Wake up early




2. Make your bed




3. Meditate daily

FINAL NOTE:

When it comes to implementing habits, please don’t beat yourself up when you fall off track. Although I listed 30 habits, I do not recommend adding too many habits at once. I think it’s best to start with three habits and when you feel comfortable, you can still add more. As you can see my habit tracker, I also fell off track with my habits in the last week of May when I was on holiday in Norway. The habits I included on the list can serve as an inspiration for you and if you have a certain hobby or a skill that you want to learn (in my case yoga and calligraphy), make sure to add them as well.
It’s all about doing what feels good for YOU.

    I love these habits! Especially doing random acts of kindness. Smiling at a stranger or sending a surprise gift to a friend always makes me feel happier. Thank you for this post!
